EXPLORADUS AFRICA AND KILIMANJARO OCT 2006 DISPATCHES - CLICK HERE
Climbing Africa's Mount Kilimanjaro is considered one of life's greatest adventures, and it should be a complete African cultural experience that you cherish for a lifetime. At Exploradus we specialize in small groups having exciting cultural experiences, as well as successful mountain climbing adventures. Our guides work as equals with local guides and porters who have lived and worked on the mountain for many years to insure both a rewarding cultural experience and a successful climb. Often life long friends are made with these fine folks who will help you learn, explore, and climb a mountain they know so well.
Located in Tanzania near the boarder of Kenya, Mount Kilimanjaro sits in one
of the most diverse regions in the world. You will climb through five eco-systems
on your way to the summit. Exploradus offers two routes on this magnificent mountain
to insure a peaceful and less crowded experience. The less traveled Traverse
Route is approached from the grasslands of the North and ends in the jungles
below the southern slopes of Kilimanjaro. The popular Machame
Route takes you
underneath the rapidly disappearing glacier of this majestic mountain. Both trips
include a seven-day climb and a three-day safari.
Climbing Kilimanjaro is a high altitude expedition reaching (19,340 feet / 5895) meters at the summit, and although the climb is a strenuous high altitude expedition the physical demands are very reasonable for those who exercise on a regular basis and are in good health. We take a full seven days on the mountain to maximize acclimatization and your chance for a successful summit attempt.
Here's what a past client had to say about Exploradus' unique approach to exploring Kilimanjaro:
"The best part of dealing with Exploradus was not having to worry about where we were going next on the trip. Every detail was taken care of and I was able to focus on the climb and enjoy the experience and beauty of the mountain. I was treated like family and that is a comforting feeling when you're so far from home. The safari was just an incredible bonus to an already unbelievable trip."
