4 Day Walking SafariThis is an exclusive four night safari that offers every aspect of what a real safari should be - seeing animals, walking, exploring, and experiencing African life alongside our expert local trackers who live in this area. The opportunities for game viewing on foot or by vehicle, at any time of the year are undoubtedly some of the best in Africa. The area transects the Koiyaki and Ol Kinyei Group ranches, adjoining the Masai Mara Game Reserve.The idea behind walking on safari in a wilderness area is to gain a much more intimate, comprehensive, and intense experience of the animals and landscape. The animals we come across will be going about their daily business of survival undisturbed. Walking is a fantastic way to encounter game, their tracks, sounds, scents, their relationships to each other and the ever- changing environment. Accommodation is in comfortable, walk-in insect- proof tents, custom-made for our walking safaris. They are bush- green; with large mesh windows on all sides for maximum viewing (can be completely closed if necessary). The mesh roof (to see the night sky) can be covered with a flysheet if rain looks likely. Comfortable bedrolls with mattresses, cotton sheets and warm covers (with hot water bottles when necessary) on a 7ft X 7ft sheepskin carpet make up the sleeping arrangements. Washing facilities consist of hot traditional safari bucket showers as required, washstands with basins and a short drop toilet tent. 3 Day Lodge SafariSet on a wonderful rocky promontory, overlooking the sweeping Isupukiai River, our luxury seasonal Ol Seki Mara Camp enjoys panoramic views in a gorgeous wilderness area teeming with game. Eastern Koiyaki, north of the Mara, provides a rare opportunity to enjoy wildlife viewing, in a pristine setting. This oasis of inspired and beautifully designed tents is nestled amongst Cordia and Acacia trees attracting an abundance of wildlife and birds, many of which are seen from the tents in the valley below.The simple modern architecture creates an exciting living space in the six light and roomy tents, each with a double and a single bed, crisp linen, thoughtfully designed lighting, a changing room and en suite hot showers and flush toilets. All have breathtaking views and all are designed to meet environmental demands and complimented by the fine décor of the comfortable library and dining tents. Elegant candle lit dinners, a resident masseuse a delight for all senses!
